We are proud to be the designated representative for Dumfries and Galloway supported through the Support in the Right Direction (SiRD) fund, administered by Inspiring Scotland.
Our project was approved as part of the Scottish Government’s commitment to ensuring that individuals across Scotland are better able to access and benefit from Self-Directed Support (SDS).
Through this funding, we are delivering support tailored to the needs of individuals, carers, and families in Dumfries and Galloway, helping them to make informed choices and take greater control over their social care.
With this support, our work includes:
- Providing person-centred information and guidance on Self-Directed Support (SDS).
- Empowering individuals to understand their rights and navigate the SDS process confidently.
- Offering peer support sessions, workshops, and community engagement activities to build local capacity.
- Working collaboratively with other agencies and community groups to ensure inclusive access to SDS options.
This funding spans three years and enables us to build a sustainable, community-based model that promotes independence, choice, and control in social care for people across Dumfries and Galloway.
